Sesimbra is a picturesque town which combines glorious beaches, stunning natural scenery and traditional Portuguese heritage to form one of the finest beach towns of Portugal, which surprisingly, is virtually unknown by overseas tourists. There is so much to love about Sesimbra, from the pristine beaches that are protected by Arrabida Natural Park through to the delicious seafood that is served in numerous excellent restaurants. Sesimbra is primarily a Portuguese resort offering a warm welcome to people from other countries. The town is just 30 minutes from Lisbon, offering a genuine Portuguese experience without the hustle and bustle of more commercial regions such as the Algarve.

Aside from the beautiful beaches and great food there is a lot to do in the Sesimbra region; there are hiking/biking trails through the Serra da Arrabida and day trips to Cabo Espicho or the fishing port of Setubal. The area also includes the Prof. Luiz Saldanha Marine Park, with over a thousand animal species and quite rare marine plants in the Portuguese west coast. In the Espichel Cape, characterised by a coastline of high cliffs, it's possible to observe migratory birds such as the Royal Swallow, the Peregrine Falcon, the Bonelli's Eagle and the Eagle Owl.

The region is excellent for sporting activities including kayaking, coasteering, surfing, body-boarding, wind-surfing, kite-surfing, sailing, boating, trekking, mountain biking, climbing, abseiling, caving, land tours, paragliding. There are 8 excellent golf courses close to the hotels.

Sesimbra is also considered as the best diving locations of Portugal, while to the north are the powerful surfing beaches of the Costa da Caparica, which also host summer time beach activities mentioned above. We know Portugal and we love Sesimbra, so for those travellers who are seeking an authentic Portuguese destination, Sesimbra is the ideal location
